Bitcoin Workshop for Women

Bitcoin Zambia organised a Women’s Workshop on March 29th in Lusaka, Zambia. Twenty-one women attended the workshop, many of whom received sats for the first time, using the Aqua Wallet. The event highlighted the growing inclusion of women in Zambia’s Bitcoin ecosystem and the power of peer-led education to spark confidence and curiosity. The workshop was supported by Bitcoin for Fairness.

Bitcoin Workshop for Journalists

On October 2022 journalists learnt the fundamentals of Bitcoin, its importance in the Zambian context, and how to report on it accurately. Empowering the media with this knowledge is crucial for fostering informed public conversations around financial freedom and digital innovation.

Building Bitcoin from the Ground Up in Zambia

Since 2022, Bitcoin Zambia, formerly known as Bitcoin for Fairness Zambia, has been at the forefront of grassroots Bitcoin education, adoption, and advocacy in the country. We believe in Bitcoin as a tool for financial inclusion, freedom, and innovation — and we’re building a community that reflects that belief.

Our initiative brings together individuals passionate about open-source money, peer-to-peer exchange, and decentralized solutions to real-world problems. From hosting meetups and technical workshops to engaging with youth, civic organisations, women, and journalists, we’ve created a strong foundation for Bitcoin in Zambia — and we’re just getting started.

Whether you’re new to Bitcoin or already down the rabbit hole, Bitcoin Zambia is a space where you can learn, connect, and grow with others who are shaping the future of money in our region.
